New Leaders for New Schools, Inc. (“New Leaders”, “we”, “us”, “our”) has prepared this Privacy Policy Statement (“Privacy Policy”) to describe how we may collect, use, and disclose any information you, the user of the Web site (“you”, “your”), provide about yourself and your school through the New Leaders for New Schools Community of Practice Web site (“Community Web site”).
Use of services provided through the Community Web site (“Services”) is open to members of our organization (“member(s)”), and from time to time to certain guests upon our discretion, and is subject to the Community Web site’s
Terms of Use.
Please review carefully the following Privacy Policy before using the Community Web site for any purpose. Your use of the Community Web site represents your consent to and acceptance of this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree or are not comfortable with any policy described in this Privacy Policy, you should discontinue your use of the Community Web site. By providing us with information about your school, you represent that you are authorized to disclose and provide us with such information and that the information you provide to us is true and accurate.
Information We Collect
Information about you and your school will be stored in your member profile, which is visible to other members and guests of the Community Web site (except for your login password). Your member profile may include, under the default option, information that you have already provided to us voluntarily through a survey or other means, such as your name, biography, mailing address, telephone number, email address, professional information and information about the school you are affiliated with. You may modify or add information in your member profile at any time by using the “Modify My Profile” feature. Your member profile will be visible to other members and guests of the Community Web site. If you do not wish to share your information with other members and guests of the Community Web site, you should remove such information from your member profile. We require that your member profile include, at minimum, your full name, biography and user name. If you do not wish to make your email address public, please
do not check the box in your member profile entitled “Make My Email Address Public”. If you do not wish to provide biographical information, you may place an X or some other designation in that box. If you would like to delete your member profile, please contact us as provided below (“How to Contact Us”).
How We May Use the Information You Provide
We may use the information you provide through the Community Web site to update your information in our database. We may also use such information to contact you with news, updates or other information about or in connection with the programs and other services we provide. You may choose not to receive email of this type by opting-out of these communications in the future. In that case, you may still receive administrative emails from us. We may also contact you to request additional information and feedback.
Use of Cookies
A cookie is a text file that is stored by a Web site on user’s computer to track usage of the Web site and customize the site experience based on user tendencies. We may use cookies to simplify registration and login for the Services and to improve the user experience while using the Community Web site. We may use the information collected by us in aggregate, non-personally identifiable form to generate statistics and otherwise in the conduct of our business.
If assets related to New Leaders are acquired by another legal entity, that legal entity will possess all information collected by us and will assume the rights and obligations regarding any information provided to us by you as described in this Privacy Policy.
Security
Your member profile is protected by a password you create. We implement features reasonably designed to protect the security of any non-public information that is stored in our database, such as your password. We cannot, however, guaranty the security of your non-public account information. Hacking, software or hardware failure and other unauthorized access to our premises and systems may compromise the security of our members’ and guests’ information.
Links to Other Web sites
The Community Web site may include links to other Web sites. We are not responsible for the content of and privacy policies on other Web sites. When logging in to another Web site, you should read the privacy policy and terms of use of that Web site. This Privacy Policy governs only information that is collected in connection with the Community Web site. We encourage you to read the privacy policy and terms of use of each and every Web site that you visit.
Accessibility of Personal Information by Other Members and Guests
Any information posted by you on the Community Web site’s member profile, blogs, journals, message boards or public forums or any other portions of the Community Web site will be accessible and visible to other members and guests of the Community Web site and might be used by them to send you unsolicited, non-requested or non-desirable information. We will not be liable for any loss and/or damage that may occur to you due to any such submission of information. We recommend that you always use caution when giving out any personally identifiable information about yourself or information about your school.
Updates and Changes to Privacy Policy
We may add, change, update or modify this Privacy Policy, at any time and without notice, by posting such change, update or modification on the Community Web site. Any such change, update or modification will apply thirty (30) days after it is initially posted on the Community Web site (“effective date”). If we make any material changes to this Privacy Policy, we will notify you about by email at the email address you provided. Any minor changes to this Privacy Policy shall become effective immediately without notice by posting such changes on the Community Web site.
Please note that, at all times, you are responsible for updating your personal information and for providing us with your current e-mail address. In the event that the last e-mail address that you have provided to us is not valid, or for any other reason is not capable of delivering to you the notice described above, our dispatch of the e-mail containing such notice will nonetheless constitute effective notice of the changes described in the notice. If you do not wish to permit changes in our use of your information, you must notify us prior to the effective date of the changes that you wish to deactivate your Community Online member’s account.
